This weblog is authored by consultant, author and educator Mary Virginia Swanson to offer creative, branding and marketing advice to photographers and to help them understand essential elements of a career as an visual artist. It is also important to her that her readers gain a broad understanding of the art market and how this ‘machine’ functions.

MVS ON THE ROAD:
Mary Virginia is now scheduling consultations with photographers in the following locations in the next several months:
Tucson, Phoenix and Santa Fe in August; Tucson, NYC and Portsmouth, NH and Austin Texas in September. In her home base of Tucson, Arizona she is available by appointment for in-person consultations, and conducts remote consultations via telephone (Skype may be used for international calls).
To receive notice of upcoming workshops, public lectures or events in your area, new publications and more, join her mailing list. (Names will NOT be shared.) Her upcoming event schedule on her website indicates what cities, in addition to Tucson, Arizona, where she will be offering consultation appointments, as well as public lectures and marketing workshops.

New! UPCOMING WORKSHOPS:
“Publish Your Photography Book” will be published early in 2011 (Princeton Architectural Press). MVS and Darius Himes will be hitting the road with their weekend-long seminar of the same name, beginning with Phoenix/Gilbert January 21-22 (additional cities/dates to be announced). The only one-week course they will teach on this topic will again be offered at the Santa Fe Workshops, June 26 – July 2nd, 2011.
