DEADLINE EXTENDED to MARCH 5th: Palm Springs Photo Festival Slide Show Contest – no fee to enter

I am a big fan of the Palm Springs Photo Festival.  I love the fact that no matter how you choose to spend your days, be it attending a workshop, having your portfolio reviewed, listening to a lecture or panel discussion, talking to tech/publishing experts in the sponsor booths or making pictures in the area, we all come together for a shared evening experience, one that we can all discuss together later that evening, at breakfast, the next day – and, the next night’s presentations stretches our imagination further.  At the beginning of each evening, something special happens:  4 of the 16 finalists for the PSPF Slide Show Competition are shown on the big screen at the Palm Springs Art Museum, to the wonderfully diverse audience representing all aspects of the photography industry.  I can tell you – we aren’t late – no one wants to miss these fantastic presentations, stills set to music in slide show format.  I have been introduced to wonderful new work; the winner is announced the last evening. The Slide Show evening presentations are something I truly look forward to within the PSPF programming.

Now is the time to get serious about your entry!  There is NO FEE TO ENTER, a rare thing these days.

Below are the details.  I look forward to seeing your work on the big screen in Palm Springs!

  1. Photography is dependant on the reaction of the chemicals on the film to light, it is easy to deduce the importance of light conditions when taking photographs. As light is as important as indicated, one must also be aware that light can be reflected off certain objects, it can be absorbed by others.
