Bio from the Maine Media Workshops website:
Tillman Crane, of Camden, Maine, is a photographer and writer with a singular style. Working solely with the large format view cameras he photographs the quiet, often overlooked corners of our lives. Printed in platinum, these photographs reveal the elegance of the everyday, commonplace.
He has taught workshops for over 20 years for many schools and organizations, including the Maine Photographic Workshops, Peters Valley Craft Center, Inversnaid Photography Center in Scotland and the Scottish Royal Photographic Society. In addition he offers his own series of workshops on the View Camera, Platinum Printing, the Use of Soft Focus Lenses, Self-publishing Photography Books and Maine and Scotland locations.
Tillman has written extensively on the craft of black and white photography and platinum printing for a wide range of publications, including View Camera magazine, Silvershotz (U.K.), and Ilford Photo Instructor. He has published three books, Tillman Crane/STRUCTURE (2001) and TOUCHSTONES (2005/sold out) and ODIN STONE (2008). He is in production with a book on the Jordan River in UT (October 2009) and at work on a book on Maine for 2010.
