September 11: Photographer Loli Kantor to lecture in Dallas, Texas

Photographer Loli Kantor will be lecturing in conjunction with her exhibition at SMU in Dallas, Texas:

Friday, September 11,  2009 at 6 PM , at the O’Donnell auditorium, followed by an opening reception at 7PM at the Mildred Hawn Gallery.

From the announcement:
The exhibition There Was a Forest, will be up August 24-November 15th, 2009 at the Mildred Hawn gallery at the Hamon Arts Library, Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, 6100 Hillcrest, Dallas, Texas 75205.

The works, created mostly in Ukraine 2005-2008, and in Poland, 2004, show a tangible reality of Jewish life in vivid, highly saturated color pigment prints and a more personal biographical sensibility with 21 small works in palladium.

Holgapolooza is an annual photo contest and celebration of the Holga camera.

Each year from July to September, photographers from around the world are encouraged to participate in an international contest featuring Holga photography hosted by Light Leaks Magazine and

Categories will be presented and submissions will be reviewed by well-respected and internationally renowned judges who will determine winners in each of the categories. Winners will be rewarded with cash and prizes donated by our sponsors as well as have their photos published in Light Leaks magazine.
