Keith Taylor will present his work on Tuesday, August 18th in the Tuesday Artist’s Talk Series at Mpls Photo Center, from 7 – 10 p.m. Keith is known for his beautiful platinum prints, and will be exhibiting a selection of his work printed in a number of different alternative processes. Come and her from the master who prints for such artists as Beth Dow, Eve Arnold, Cy DeCosse, Alex Soth, Mario Testino and more.
From the e-release:
“Taylor is known for dusky, richly detailed images more reminiscent of etchings that conventional photographs. They are made with a laborious 19-century printing process involving platinum and palladium instead of the more common silver salts used in most 20th – century photographs. Recently he invented a technique that includes a computer to enlarge his negatives, but he still mixes his own light-sensitive solutions of platinum and palladium and brushes them onto the watercolor type paper on which the photos are printed.”
A selection of fifteen of Taylor’s prints are currently on view in the Center’s Third Floor Gallery.
Free to members, $5 to non-members (can be applied to membership).
