Registration forms must be completed and sent to FotoFest by regular mail or fax. NO phone, e-mail, or walk-in registrations are accepted. July 13 is not a postmark deadline – forms must be received by that date.

On the morning of Tuesday, July 14, 2009, FotoFest conducts a lottery for Meeting Place Registrations. All registration received before the lottery have an equal chance for acceptance.

Registrations that are not chosen in the lottery will be added to the waiting list in the order in which they are received. Meeting Place registrations received after July 13, 2009 are still eligible and are placed on the waiting list in the order in which they are received.

Registration for the 2010 Meeting Place is nearly at capacity. Register now to ensure your entry in the lottery.

Hello, I will attend Fotofest for the first time in 2010. I am interested in finding a list of items that are a MUST to bring to the Meeting Place Reviews. For example: hard copy proofs of work, business cards, cv, bio, “contact sheet” of thumbnails of a series, cd rom with all items, etc. Also, are there preferred dimensions for work to be reviewed by reviewers, considering travel restrictions?

rmahoney68: what to bring varies from person to person, depending on the body or bodies of you wish to present and receive feed back on… if you bring only very large prints, you will spend much time handling prints, not talking about them. Smaller proofs are OK but realize that those whom you wish to exhibit or acquire the work will want to see an example of what your final format is, and perhaps what it looks like installed. I don’t encourage artists to burn a disc to give to each reviewer at the conclusion of their meeting unless they are firm about the edit, as often your “selects” will change through the course of reviews… rather, prepare a follow-up packet for those who wish for it (if that is their preferred format – ask!) applying all you learned at FF2010, be it edit, presentation, re-write of statement, etc.
I’ll write more about preparing for reviews as the date approaches for Atlanta Celebrates Photography, the various SPE Regional conference reviews, PhotoNOLA and those in early 2010. Many of my fall lectures will cover preparing for reviews, as well – ’tis the season!
