Tuesday night March 24th in Houston: Houston Center for Photography will host an evening for those interested in applying for the annual HCP Juried Membership Exhibition, hosted by Executive Director Madeline Yale and Jason Dibley, HCP’s Program Coordinator.

“Applying to HCP’s Juried Membership Show? Get your questions answered in this informational meeting with HCP’s Program Coordinator, Jason Dibley and Executive Director and Curator, Madeline Yale. This meeting will cover the application process, from saving your files correctly and providing a slide list in correct order, to suggestions on what to include in your artist statement. Jason and Madeline will review submission requirements and give an overview of what happens during the review process. Ensure your application gets the attention it deserves!
HCP’s 2009 Juried Membership Exhibition will be selected by Katherine Ware, Curator of Photography at the New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe, New Mexico.”
Applications will be available starting February 10, 2009 and the deadline for submissions is April 10, 2009.

JUROR:
Katherine Ware is currently the Curator of Photography at the New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Previously the Curator of Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Alfred Stieglitz Center for Photography in the Department of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, Ms. Ware co-organized the recent exhibition Dreaming in Black and White: Photography at the Julien Levy Gallery and was co-author of the accompanying book. She is a frequent juror and reviewer of contemporary photography and is presently at work on a retrospective of the work of Dave Heath and a show titled Photo Mandalas. Ms. Ware has organized numerous exhibitions from the Philadelphia Museum’s permanent collection, including Street Smarts: Photographs by William Klein; The Silver Garden; and The Faceless Figure.
