This Tuesday at SVA: Panel on Collecting Photographs sponsored by CCNY

I stopped in to see Michael Mazzeo today at his gallery of the same name; he was installing an interesting group show in advance of next week’s multiple art fairs occurring in Manhattan and told me about this event:

From the Camera Club of New York:
“In celebration of its 125th Anniversary Year, The Camera Club of New York will present a panel discussion:

“Collecting Contemporary Photography (Emphasis on Emerging,)”

at the School of Visual Art’s Amphitheater, 209 E. 23rd St., 3rd Floor, on Tuesday, March 3, 8-10pm.  The event is free.
“The panel will include photo dealers Daniel Cooney and Michael Mazzeo; photo collectors Joseph Baio and Evan Mirapaul; and Cara Phillips, co-founder of the online site Women in Photography (www.wipnyc.org)  and Amani Olu, private dealer, curator, and founder of Humble Arts Foundation, a non-profit that works to advance the careers of emerging fine art photographers.  Photographers Allen Frame and Saul Robbins will moderate the panel and take questions from the audience.

Seating is limited, so please rsvp to info@cameraclubny.org or call Emile Dubuisson at 212-260-9927.”
