Andrew Moore is best known for his complex and painterly images of Cuba, Russia, and Times Square. He teaches in the Photography M.F.A. program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Chronicle Books published his photographs of Cuba, Inside Havana (2002) and Russia, Beyond Utopia (2005). Moore was one of the founders of the Art of Science project, a university wide competition that celebrates the aesthetics of research and the ways in which science and art inform each other.
His photographs are represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Yale University Art Gallery, the Library of Congress, the Israel Museum, the High Museum, the Eastman House and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. Moore has been the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, The New York State Council on the Arts, and several private foundations.
Following the presentation, PhotoAlliance founder LINDA CONNOR will sign copies of her newest book ODYSSEY (Also published by Chronicle Books) to benefit PhotoAlliance.
