From New Orleans Photo Alliance:
DESIRE
“It is the nature of desire not to be satisfied and most men live only for the gratification of it.”
-Aristotle
The New Orleans Photo Alliance is seeking work that explores the nature of DESIRE to be exhibited during February and March, 2009 at the New Orleans Photo Alliance Gallery. For more information, click here.
Desire is an eager wish to possess or enjoy. Its objects range from the pious to the sensuous to the mundane. Desire is, by its nature, unsustainable. Desire is fleeting, but images last forever. This exhibit encourages photographers to interpret, question or celebrate the myriad aspects of desire. The juror will be Mayumi Lake. Ms. Lake’s artwork deals with the interaction between the real and imaginary.
