“From Digital to Inkjet Print” Next in En Foco Professional Development Workshops, February 24th

En Foco‘s next offering in its Professional Development Workshop series will be held this Saturday, February 24th at Spectral Masters Digital Imaging, Bronx, NY. This a 4-hour introductory course providing artists with the know-how to properly prepare their scans and digital files for output. All participants leave with an archival print of their own work.

Course includes lecture, white board, printed materials, and hands-on demonstrations. Registered participants will be allowed access to the server to upload their own images to be used during their hands-on portion of the course. Each participant leaves with an archival print of their own work (En Foco members also receive 30% off should they want additional prints).

Course Outline: Review of the Basics (Color Perception; Digital Image Capture, Scanners/Digital Cameras), Digital Workflow (Manipulating Images; Saving, Storing and Transmitting), Inkjet Printers (How they Work, Review of Selected Devices), Color Management (Color Spaces, Profiles, Rendering, Calibration and Characterization), the Media (What is Archival, Papers, Inks), Hands-on Practice, Q&A.

PWP sponsors evening honoring “Pioneer Women in Photography: Creative Insights and Inspiration” on March 1st/NYC

Professional Women Photographers, a non-profit organization founded in 1975, meets in New York City on the first Thursday of each month from September through June at Pratt Institute’s 2nd floor conference room (144 W. 14th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues, 6:15 – 9:00 p.m.); events are open to the public for a fee of $10.00 at the door. Additionally, PWP sponsors competitions, workshops, exhibitions and panel discussions in NYC.

The above mentioned panel is coming up on the evening of Thursday, March 1st. Photographers participating include Ruth Gruber, Rebecca Lepkoff, Nancy Rudolph and Erika Stone, all incredibly accomplished women. Attend and honor their contributions to our field.
