Art Fairs this weekend in NYC! Friday – Monday, February 23-26

Two important contemporary art fairs will be held this weekend in NYC, and shuttle busses will be running between the two to make it easier to take it all in.

The Armory Show: The International Fair of New Art is in a new venue, Pier 94, 55th Street at 12th Avenue near the West Side Highway. Public viewing hours are 12:00 noon – 8:00 p.m., with an earlier closing of 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26th. Click here for location information.

Catch the shuttle busses from the Armory Show’s Pier 94 (street level, 55th Street)to transport you to SCOPE (provided every 15 minutes).

SCOPE NEW YORK (February 23-26) will be held at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, located at 62nd Street at 10th Avenue. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Click here for location information.

It is a very interesting time to assess the market for photography within the larger contemporary art market; attending these shows will be an excellent glimpse into the place photography now holds at contemporary art fairs. I am completely jealous of all you who can attend!
