“The Architecture of the Book: Critical Issues that Inform the Artist’s Book” is an international symposium hosted by Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. The conference will facilitate critical discourse on the artist’s book from interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary perspectives. The symposium keynote speaker is Dr. Johanna Drucker, writer, book artist and Robertson Professor of Media Studies at the University of Virginia. Accompany events inlude two public workshops on book arts construction and advanced methods, an opening reception for the exhibition “The Architecture Uncanny” (prints, photographs and book works by Marlene MacCallum), an open portfolio evening, studio tours and more.
