The December/January issue of SEED MAGAZINE is still on the stands and is a focus on “the Year In Science 2006. This issue features, for the second consecutive year, “The Year In Ideas.” Seed “asked artists and scientists to illustrate five of the most revelatory experiments, findings, discoveries, and proofs of the year. Welcome to the new scientific renaissance.”

There’s an interesting post on the website section “Environment and Ecology” called ARTSPEAK by Natalie Jeremijenko: “The arts community is responding to climate change, and changing the conversation in the process.” She refers to significant art exhibitions such as Ecotopia that featured imagery by artists addressing issues of the environment.

Seed is one of my favorite magazines – for content, graphic design and use of photography. The title reads SEED with the subtitle “Science is Culture.” Each issue features a portfolio of science-related images featured as double-spreads, full-bleed throughout the issue, then showcased at the end of the issue in a special segment on the artist featured. Outstanding!
