PhotoAlliance launches “Our World” Juried Portfolio Review in SF 3/06
PhotoAlliance has announced a “Our World,” a juried portfolio review event to be held March 10 & 11 at the San Francisco Art Institute. 50 photographers will be accepted for participation. Entries must be postparked by FEBRUARY 2, with acceptance notifications sent 2/10. This event is co-sponsored by the Orion Magazine and DoubleTake Magazine; participant prizes will include the Photo Alliance Emerging Photography Award and the “Our World” Publication Award. The Art Of Photography Show 2007 is an international exhibition of photographic art to be juried by TIM B. WRIDE, founding Executive Director of the No Strings Foundation and recent Curator of Photography at the Los Angeles Museum of Art. Entries must be submitted as digital files in the JPEG format.Winning entries will be on view at the Lyceum Theater Gallery in San Diego; a catalogue with be produced and sales encouraged.

The Jen Bekman Gallery has opened the Winter 2007 Edition submissions for Hey Hot Shot! considered “the best thing going for emerging photographers.” Jen Bekman, recently named one of American Photo’s 2006 Innovators, has a great eye for emerging talent, and entering her competition is a great way to introduce your work to Jen and her Panelists for this competition.
