| Description: “The Society for Photographic Education (SPE) West Regional conference will be in San Francisco during Nov 13-16, 2008.
The conference, which brings together photography educators, professionals and students from California, Nevada and Hawaii is hosted by the Academy of Art. This years SPE West Regional Conference is co-chaired by Fotovision board member Erika Gentry and Kathleen Laraia McLaughlin of Los Angeles. This years theme is Inspiration: action, influence, ideas and the keynote speaker is Alec Soth, Magnum Photos. This conference is a phenomenal opportunity to meet and learn from fellow photographers, educators and enthusiasts and we encourage you all to attend. Fotovision’s Executive Director Melanie Light and Program Director Adrianne Koteen will be offering a presentation Documentary in Action: Photos that Change the World on Saturday November 15th from 11:00am-12:00pm.
