Each of her subjects is personally affected by the geopolitical context in which they live, and their testimonies, which accompany each portrait, are full of resilience, pride, defiance, vulnerability, and—most astonishing of all—optimism.Laub will discuss this work and be available to sign copies of her book, TESTIMONY (Aperture, 2007).WHEN AND WHERE:Monday, November 266:30 p.m.New York Public LibraryMid-Manhattan Library455 Fifth AvenueNew York, New York(212) 340-0849FREE and open to the public.Gillian Laub’s portraits have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Time, and the New Yorker.
